In this 2006 digital artwork of mine, a Thunderbird gracefully floats above the early morning sunrise over the traditional territory of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples of the Songhees and Xwsepsum Nations.
Imagine standing by the harbour, watching as dawn reveals this breathtaking creature. The thunderbird, emblematic of great power and protection, extends its wings across the sky, feasting on whales and producing thunderous echoes with each wing beat. I am deeply grateful to live in such an inspiring location, drawing endless inspiration from my surroundings.
